I am proud to be an assistant professor at Marist College in the Education Department. I teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses: Literacy in Social Studies and the Arts, Culturally Responsive Education, Teaching Content Area Literacy as well as supervising student teachers. I also participate on dissertation committees. My philosophy for teaching focuses on the creation of literacy knowledge within a social context; as a constructivist, my main goal is to engage students in constructing knowledge that informs and prepares them for their role as future teachers.
